On Wednesday evening in Basel, the Turkish national football team matches up against the German team in the semifinals of the Euro 2008 soccer championships. It is the first time the two teams have met in a major tournament since 1954. After all, Germany is home to a substantial population of Turkish immigrants and Germans with Turkish backgrounds. All´alba del giorno seguente posso fortunatamente dire che a Berlino nulla di grave é successo e che sostanzialmente la tranquillitá é stata mantenuta grazie anche e soprattutto alla comunitá turca che é rimasta pacifica ed ha comunque festeggiato per le strade.
